Creative Arts Psychotherapies

Creative Arts Psychotherapies (Music/Art/Drama/Dance)

These are psychotherapies that use different art forms as a way to build a therapeutic relationship with a client - for expression and communication. For example, there is much that can be learnt about someone’s past and present from listening to music that is significant to them. The arts are a significant part of our society, culture, history, and self expression. An arts psychotherapist will use this connection and medium as an integrative part of the therapy work, alongside talking.

These are clinical psychological interventions. All therapists are Masters level trained or more. They work with people of all ages and needs, whose lives have been affected by injury, illness or disability through supporting their psychological, emotional, cognitive, communicative and social needs.

Psychotherapy & Counselling

Psychotherapy & Counselling

Psychotherapy and Counselling are talking therapies which think about what is happening in your current situation. A counsellor will aim to explore your difficulties and help you to process what is happening, thinking about symptoms, triggers and supporting you in developing more helpful patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviours. A psychotherapist will perhaps take a more in depth approach - thinking about your childhood, past life experiences, emotional regulation etc in relation to your current situation.

Both styles of therapy provide a caring, non-judgemental space to help you understand yourself better and to be able to grow personally out of what is perhaps currently a difficult situation. These therapists can be qualified to a variety of different levels. We are always very clear about the level of training each of therapists have had, so do take a look.
